Nice collection of pics. I like the last one best - looks like from Lago Nordernskjold just above Salto Grande? I was there earlier this week but I think our conditions were just a little different 60+ mph winds and a lot more clouds!

#1 is a composite, shot at 28mm with the moon shot at 200mm. The moon was there, setting behind Fitz Roy, however was obviously rendered very small at 28mm.

Yep. 200mm.

I spent some time trying to get the size of the moon 'right'. Part of that was visualizing in my head while on-scene how large it was in proportion to the mountain; although the size of it as-is may not be to everyone's taste, I feel it is about right for how I saw it and remember it on the day in question. It's actually been decreased in size significantly (about 30%) versus my first edit of this shot. How big to leave it was a point I debated for a while.
The conditions we had were pretty good yeah. Had 3-4 days of great light in TDP, on the Argentinian side we were a bit less fortunate I think; the sunrise at Cerro Torre never really delivered to it's full potential and burned out quickly, and most of the other shoots had little to no cloud around Fitz Roy. But at least it wasn't raining or windy
Gorgeous set; I definitely would love to visit Patagonia someday!
I gotta agree with some others about #1....a 200mm moon in a 28mm shot is getting into 70's Sci Fi territory. It may have "felt" huge when witnessing its rise, but really the human eye sees about 50mm.

When it comes to things like moons in shots, we (photographers) wil be the toughest critics. For the average person they will just love #1 I believe.

This has certainly been my experience. The Fitz Roy image has proved to be my most popular image from the trip on social media, somehow managing almost 140K views on 500px (which I have never come close to previously.) Plenty of photographers have said they feel the moon is a bit too big but the average person seems to love it. I've got a few versions sitting in my files with the moon at various sizes, I guess I can target the right version to the right audience
Here's a couple more shots, including one I had posted earlier (in a different thread) with some processing tweaks/improvements made.
