You can't go wrong with either image ,each has it's own wow factor but I am going for the B&W image. For me,that image is more about the landscape ,which features this ancient remanent of a past geological era, where as the color image features the rock. What is the chance of seeing the B&W in color?

Glad you liked the shot! As for the sharpening, because my last couple desert shots ended up seeming too sharp after sharpening for the web, I decided to skip my web sharpening on this one to see what it looked like. I guess I should have applied a little web sharpening...
