Brazed carbide cutting tip on a masonry holesaw, 3x.
The slightly darker areas around the tooth and the darker vertical angled lines are not shadows or errors. One is the brazing compound used to bond the carbide in place and the angled lines is the color of the metal. Both show up in a single shot.
The stacker stripped the exif: f/6.3, 1/250s, 65mm.
Nice shot...love it! Used to be a CNC operator and used to be very familiar with carbide. Also ran the tool crib and in charge of resharpening, and modifying the prints for custom made cutters. Therefor it has emotional meaning for me.
