Thanks, Dave! I am delighted that you like it. Even more than the other one, eh?

All the best,

Endre

This is a lovely photo of a lovely girl. I normally don't like portraits with no eye contact, but this is a wonderful exception.

Is your fiddle really a Strad? I have never played one, but I did have an opportunity to play a Nicolo Amati violin. I was scared to death to hold it, but it was heavenly.

Thank you so much! I am delighted that you like this so much!

Yes, I perform on a 1728 Stradivarius and have for about 35 years. You can see a number of my photos of it (and a few others) here: http://endre-balogh.artistwebsites.com/art/all/all/all/the+violin I also perform on a secondary violin which is probably the finest "bench copy" of a Stradivarius ever made. (A "bench copy" is an exact duplicate in every possible way. They matched the wood and varnish and every little scratch and mark are there. It's really remarkable.) I often go to schools and give a talk about violins and I bring up one of the kids to hold both instruments. It's always quite a thrill for them.

Amati violins tend to be softer in volume but with a beautiful tone. I gather you are a violinist (particularly since you refer to a Strad as a fiddle! ) so I'm glad you got the chance to play on a really fine instrument.

All the best,

Endre
