I was able to get some shots of a New Jersey rarity ( especially in the winter up at the top of the state ) of a feeder visiting male painted bunting. The first day I connected with him, it started raining when I finally had seen him, but I was happy to cross him off my little bird bucket list anyways, even though my shots were hi iso poor quality. I returned the next day with better light, but the crops are still heavy as this bird is very spooky and keeps his distance. He's pretty much a local celebrity as he's been around for 40 something days now. There are plenty of distracting branches, but I was happy with some of these shots anyways, as it's my first one and one of the top little birds on my list. The vermillion flycatcher and mountain bluebird are a few more on my list that I've yet to connect with. The first two shots are from the first day with rain, the rest of them are the second day with late afternoon sun. I'm glad I made the second trip. A half hour away. All of them are heavy crops from the 800 plus 1.4x tele on the mark IV.
