I'm going to try real hard not to be too obnoxious and post 100+ pics because I have a LOT again.
My wife and I recently came back from our 3rd 5-week trip to Vietnam. After spending a couple week with her family in the south, we spent the last 3 weeks in the north. 2 of those weeks were spent traveling and trekking in the extreme North East provinces of Vietnam. Mainly Ha Giang province, along the Vietnamese - Chinese border. This is an extremely remote area of the world with VERY few tourists in most areas. We traveled the region for two weeks and only ran into one couple that was traveling on motor bikes. It is also the poorest regions of Vietnam and at times it is painfully obvious. No matter how poor they are though, they are always extremely welcoming and insistent that we come into their home for tea and/or wine. It's an amazing place, people and experience that I could only hope to capture a glimpse of with my pictures. Every picture is a story for me, as I remember each one clearly and we communicated with all of them and many many others.
The northern mountainous regions of Vietnam are dominated by ethnic minority groups, of which Vietnam has 54. These pictures include people from the H'mong, Tay, Thai, Dao, Lo Lo, and some sub groups from them such as the Red Dao and Flower Lo Lo, white Thai, Dao Tien etc.
Fantastic, simply fantastic! The expressions, the colors, the children's faces, the subtle smiles. Did I mention the expressions? Although the shallow depth of field generally adds a lot, in the 2-3 photos where the child being carried on the back was out of focus I wished it had been in focus, only for the selfish interest to see more of these precious faces (like the one you isolated as a cropped image in one of the earlier shots). Thank you--a real pleasure to view these.
Ken, I read the your first apologetic words about how many images there were, and thought, "Oh no, should I just look at something else?" Fortunately I looked at the first image and then thought, "Wow, let's see more."
This is a wonderful set of "people" photos, and beautifully rendered. Thanks for showing them!

These are wonderful and there may be some kind of contest winner in here. They're all great, but I think 12, 13 and everything from 22 and up are the best. #31 and #33 are my two favorites.
Ken, every photograph here is a story to me too. This is truly an AMAZING wonderful gallery. If you paid me I couldn't pick a favorite. One better than the next. Then I look at them again, and they are even better (if that makes sense).
Just fantastic. I can't wait to go to your people gallery. Thank you very much for sharing.
