The night-time shot is really special. I like the quality of light thrown off by the lighthouse. It makes the ice feel particularly cold and inhospitable. The stars add to the otherworldly scene. If you had somehow blending in a proper exposure for the lighthouse light I think it would have been taken to an even higher level.
@Chris - I agree - I actually have the bracketed images for a better blend for the light. The trick is, the light isn't a real "light", it's an LED. When you see it at a darker exposure, you end up with two very distinct horizontal bars instead of a singular light source. However, I think I know how to make it all work, just a matter of getting back to it
Your intrepidity to drive after these two pictures was rewarded with stunning results. I liked them both a lot. I can add little to the praise that others have offered.
I should mention that I found the Nr. 2 compelling. At first I thought it was a Color-IR image—I do a bit of that myself. You certainly captured the night view with a moving interpretation.

I was out there as well a couple of weeks ago and the Ice on the jetty was slanted so far outward that it was impossible for me to get to the outer lighthouse without a dip into Lake Michigan. I am not as nimble as I once used to be so I err on the cautious side. terrific captures.

Thanks for the kind words
Yeah, it's potentially dangerous out there - one slip and I just don't see how you'd get back up before you froze to death. If the ice was slanted, no way I'd go either.
