This is really very nice...
One thought, at least from my viewpoint:
the paddle on the windmill seems to be in the
way of the view of the sky.
Takes away the view, for me...
Evidently it does not bother anyone else.

Beautiful shot Rick - love it ! My only nit would be it feels a little cramped at the sides and I'd have preferred it a tad wider but otherwise just lovely.

Great shot, looking forward to that tutorial!
Just wondering, is it possible to post the pre-processing shot of the night sky? I can never seem to get the Milky Way to come out that obviously, not sure if its because of the time of the year (shot one in January at the Grand Canyon) or just processing skills.

I've been looking into the apps available for pinpointing sunrise/sunset/milky way. Probably the Photographer's Ephemeris can do it I don't know but, although I haven't tried it yet, Photopills has so many functions and options there must be a milky way positioning function too - take the guesswork out of when and where the Milky way core will be.
mangificent. Just curious, as long as you have the sky tracker, why not shoot at iso 400 or even 200, with longer exposure? does it mess up your foreground?

Sorry man, just seeing this! I could go down to those low ISO's but the exposure time starts to get quite long. The only negatives are; anything that breaks the horizon will be blurred even more adding more time to mask it back out...and I'm pretty impatient. Keeping the ISO's to 800/1600 and times of 120/240 seconds seem to the the sweet spot for me. I hope that helps!
