Thank you very much everyone. Baffin Island is an amazing place and I would put it on the list of iconic locations around the world together with few others. There is nothing else like this anywhere else, with so much unique landscape and great exploring opportunities. It is not the cheapest or easiest place to get but I actually like the fact that there are still places where you can go, be alone for two weeks, and bring some unique photos.

Wow! Would love to visit Baffin Island. I'm sure its a huge challenge trying to capture on film the grander and remoteness of it all. I think the light and your composition did a great job communicating this! Were bears a problem?

Dave: Actually, for majority of time I was hiking inland and polar bears are rarely a problem there. They tend to stay near the shore, where they can hunt in the sea. I saw one but near the shore, on my way back. In the park itself you can't carry a weapon, but you can have a bear spray (not sure if it would work Also before entering the national park one has to go through a mandatory orientation pursued by park rangers where they explain what to do in case of polar bear encounter.
To answer somebody's else question: Mt. Thor was located about 8km form the place I took this photo.
