I can hardly believe that this sweet girl will be 16 years old in just a few weeks. I have been so blessed to be her mother! She is like the 2nd mom in our family and helps me out SO much. She's also a straight A student and participates in Varsity soccer and track at school. She is a great kid.
I've been in a bit of a post-holiday slump and haven't really been motivated to drag my camera out, but at the urging of friends and my husband, I did a few pics in the garage yesterday afternoon. I even did some with my speedlight, but in true Lisa fashion, ended up loving the naturally lit images so much more. This is my favorite from our little mini shoot. I can't believe the young woman I see here now...she was just a baby yesterday. Bittersweet!

Sometimes taking a little break is the best. As in this shot for instance, incredibly beautiful light and tones! I'd love to see one of the shots with the speedligh... Maybe

Beautiful Lisa... both your daughter and the image. The eyes are amazing in this image.
Assuming this is one of the natural light shots, what is creating the long narrow catch lights in the eyes? I like the effect.
Thank you, Doug! It is garage light, but I modify it a bit by hanging a black piece of fabric along the bottom 3-4 feet of the garage opening and clamping it to the edges. I do this to prevent up lighting caused by the reflection of the sun from the driveway.

Beautiful image of your daughter. As always!
I wonder how many have thrown up their arms and given up photography because how much better your work is?

My how Calista has grown. What a lovely young lady. Your work in B&W is awesome. I have a large carport open at both ends and your garage work is motivating me to experiment with B&W.
My granddaughter is becoming of the age where she is willing to pose. As usual thanks for the inspiration and sharing.

Yeah Dave, that thought has crossed my mind a few times, but instead I'm choosing to take inspiration and work hard to get better. Lisa's shots are always amazing!
