Excellent images. I love the first image, too... The multitude of penguins and the flow of the water from the mountains make for an amazing composition.
When were you on South Georgia Island, and how did you get there (i.e. with which company)?

You had sun!!!!! That makes everything look extra special. First is a great shot with that sky and mountains. Last is a classic. And the close-up is always better with visible eye detail.
I can't wait to see what's next!
Don
Thanks Don. We landed at 4am on St. Andrews and it was a very nice morning, although even at 4am it was already too bright. In the afternoon we landed at Moltke Harbour and it was cloudy, grey and started raining. The weather can sure change fast in that area.

Amazing sight/site!
The last is a standout favorite
Looking forward to seeing more. Will you be posting on Landscape as well?
Scott
Thanks Scott. I will likely post some icebergs in landscape. I posted some in the Canon Winter 2014 thread already.

Great series Geoff. You had a great trip. I pick all of them, but the first two really show off the colony and terrain best.
Thanks Herb. It was a new experience to be able to shoot wildlife with the wide lenses. Often challenging with so many subjects and chaos all around!!

What was the coldest temperature when you were there?
Have a great week!
BeeBalm
Thanks BB. The coldest air temp was -7C in the peninsula but one morning it was -25C windchill. In S. Georgia and Falklands we were usually just a bit above freezing.

Thanks Gavin. I was on SG for 4 days this past November. I went on the Polar Pioneer through Aurora Expeditions. We did Falklands, SG, Antarctic Peninsula (21days). It was organized as a photography trip by Joshua Holko and Andy Biggs. It was a great trip.
