Drove up to Napa the day after Thanksgiving to take some family pics. Had the treat of meeting Beth Nickel herself, she was riding her bike and even opened the gate for us at Far Niente Winery so we could take some pictures. What a nice lady. Hope u guys like the pics.
Can you share your equipment/settings so I can understand how you got the subject separation? Trying to decide if that was just a massively shallow DOF or if you did some/all of that in post-processing. Also curious regarding how you lit the subjects...

The effect worked out nicely regardless.
All you need is a very fast, longe focal length lens (85 at least, 50 will do). I used a 200L for this. These are all natural light, it was overcast.
At first I was like wow great pictures, great location, awesome DOF and they are but nothing new here nothing special, you've posted better sstuff. Just being honest maybe it'll push you to do better. cheeers

Thanks Noel, I appreciate the honesty. Maybe if my brother put down some dinero next time it'll get my creative juices flowing.

These are beautiful, I particularly love number 2. Are any of these brenzier or are all single shots? Number 2 seriously looks brenzier. Beautiful :-)
