I just got back from a wonderful (albeit quick) trip to North Carolina where I taught a natural light photography workshop. We had 2 children and 1 gorgeous expecting mama modeling for us. I never use 'real models' as I prefer to work with normal people, so none of these 3 had any modeling experience. I haven't dug into these images much yet but wanted to share a few favorites I have edited.
The biggest challenge I think for any portrait photographer is establishing a genuine connection between yourself and the model - this obviously involves getting your subject into a comfortable place in front of your camera...

6 The very last light of the day - I embraced the high ISO grain and went for a filmy, raw black & white.
Thank you! I don't have anything on the calendar right now...if I schedule another it will likely be something local to me (Sedona or Flagstaff areas). Traveling is just too hard right now for me with my family obligations.
Great set Lisa. I like how there is a nice variety of looks, color, and even processing, yet they are still identifiable as yours.
All are nice but #'s 4,6 & 7 are standouts for me.

So I open this topic not paying attention to who the photographer was. These are good. These portraits remind me of Lisa Holloway's work...... Oh. :^).

Chicago's pretty local to you, isn't it? Weather's gorgeous this time of year here in the frozen wasteland.
1, 4 and 5 are the ones that rock for me. But 7 is right there, too. So did you let the others you were teaching in the workshop shoot, too? Any FMers? Be fun to see their shots.
Thanks guys! No FM'ers that I'm aware of, Ron. I actually wasn't doing a whole lot of shooting (just enough to get my models their promised images) - the girls have been posting a bunch of their stuff in our private group and it looks amazing!
You have gotten me out of lurking for years and I just had to let you know how much I enjoy and admire your photos. I have been following you since I Love Photography forum many years ago and I come on here often just to see if you have anything new to share. You are one very talented lady!
They are all wonderful but 2 & 7 just blow me away. I am not usually a B & W fan but that one (2) just makes you want to keep looking at it. Your B & W processing on it is simply amazing.
As always, Lisa, just stunning! You're one of the few photographers here that I eagerly look forward to seeing. You and Ben Kanarek should get together and shoot something in Paris. I'll bet that would be something.
