Trees in the fall are always lovely, but I find myself drawn even more to smaller seeds and buds and so many plants expend the last of the energy reproducing and preparing for Spring. Here are a few of my favourites from this Fall.

Very nicely presented Steve. I'm wondering if you could have stopped down a bit more and still had the nice backgrounds? The third is my pick.

Thanks for the comments Morris. When I shoot these types of shots I typically get them at a number of apertures. For these three I like the wide open shots the best. For the milkweed I really like that some, but not all the puffy parts are in focus. To my eye that highlighted the character of the seeds. For the berries, too much was in focus and in parts of the frame I didn't want it to (upper right) when I stopped down, and for the bud the background got pretty busy when stopped down--too much in focus on the leaf on the right drew my eye away from the buds, which I wanted to highlight. So for a bit different reason in each shot I preferred the wide open aperture. The fast aperture of this lens is a very nice feature especially when it is still quite sharp with nice character.
