My wife and I visited the US for a photographic holiday to coincide with the Colorado fall colour season spending some time in Aspen and Telluride. Also attended a photo workshop in Telluride with John Fielder which was really good. A special thanks also to all the FM'rs who gave me valuable advice in the days prior to my visit with tips and planning.
The pics below was of the Maroon Bells near Aspen which I visited on the 1st and 2nd October early mornings. The 1st day had some frost and was quite misty and it was amazing how the scene had changed in 24 hours when snow had fallen by the next morning. (I have photoshopped out some photographers who were in the frame near mid left in the 1st pic). Thanks for looking and really appreciate all critique and comments.
Maroon Bells on 2nd October. Shot with Lee 0.9 GND on this to control the strong highlights on the mountain.
Same location one day earlier on 1st Oct (edited as per suggestions)
#1 is really cool looking, though it doesn't look like frost, but a light layer of snow. I think I would pull back the highlights just a slight bit more, my first impression was the peaks were too bright. But still that is one really cool shot.
I like your composition in #2, very nicely framed. And I like the shot, but I would clone out those people on the right. It will take a little bit of work, but I would zap them out of there.
I really like #1 Mohammed. Stunning conditions. I see you did clone the ppl it #1. Good call as they dont add much to the image, for me, in the second.
Absolutely loving the contrast between the warm fall colors versus the deep blues of shadows, ...although I wish they were a little darker and less perfectly HDR'd.
