Hi guys and gals,
Long time since my last post. I have been recovering from shoulder surgery.
Hopefully I will be able to resume shooting in a month or two.
Here is an image from my last trip to Death Valley. It's different from what we are accustomed to.
Taken with the Sony A7R and Canon TS-E 24mm f/3.5L. It was tilted and shifted in order to keep distortion down and increase background resolution as a big print.
Nice original take on that area, nice light too. I'm having shoulder problems myself, I hope its not from lugging a backpack full of camera gear around, hope you recover soon.
Very otherwordly, Fred. I hope you didn't have rotator-cuff surgery. As a longtime sportswriter, I know it's one of the toughest rehabs of any surgery.
This is another trade mark capture of yours. As always your composition is excellent and pleasing to the eye. I like the way the light colored salt crystals are lines up and leading to the left while the right is dark. It plays well with the background light.
Can you share you tilt and shift settings in this shot to get optimum sharpness?
