p.1 #1 · A camel driver on the silk road in the Himalayas

This is one from Ladakh the northern tip of India. The Nubra valley requires crossing an 18000 foot pass (the highest motorable road in the world). But once there the diversity of the photography is fantastic. This is a Bactrian two humped camel being led by its owner (in period costume). C&C welcome. The contrasts were extreme and this is tone mapped not quite to my satisfaction. More here

18,000 feet! Very nice! I couldn't handle Pikes Peak at 14,000 without stopping in very short distances and getting oxygen back in my body.....thank you for sharing!

Cool subject, but the image does not appear sharp, and the tone mapping is really messing things up in terms of value. It almost looks like the camel and handler are posing in front of a photo backdrop because of the way the tone mapping is screwing up the values under the Camel's legs.

I agree with Arka, but it doesn't really bother me. I really like it, even if it looks like he's been shot in front of a mountainous backdrop. I do wish the composition allowed for less space down below and more space above the mountains. Great job!
