It should be disturbing...it's meant to be disturbing, so I am glad someone found it disturbing.
Love isn't all teddy bears and unicorns... Drug addiction hurts...destroys...ruins families and lives. If you've ever loved an addict (I have) it is one of the most trying loves there is....and yes it is sad, very sad.
Thanks again for your comments. I thought I may have been running in invisible mode. Your comments have given me hope
Love really is like a drug. Intense spells of passion are as effective at blocking pain as cocaine and other illicit drugs, a team of neuroscientists say. Brain scans revealed that these feelings caused more activity in parts of the brain that are also triggered by morphine and cocaine - https://addictionresource.com//drug-rehab/locator/. Hope love is the only drug you use
It’s a well-known fact that exposure to community violence and crime derives problematic behavior and vice versa. A few years ago, women who lived in public housing were asked to participate in a survey by giving information regarding their history of substance use. The final results confirmed the undeniable relationship between drug use disorder and domestic, gun-related, and other forms of violence. Most of them were diagnosed with depressive, anxiety, and mood disorders, which makes it more likely to abuse substances or to have a relapse during recovery. Women who witness crime definitely need specific support and prevention programs, through culturally appropriate interventions.
