It cannot be a Biogon design of course, as the rumor speculates.
Why can't it be a biogon design? The 35/2 Biogon doesn't appear to go significantly beyond the mount like some of the wider Biogons, especially once the rear is adjusted for the flange difference (I don't believe the 35 Biogon + Leica M adapter goes into the mount much if at all, but I guess I could be wrong)

Because the Biogon design causes severe color vignetting and smearing on the A7/A7r due to the positon of the exit pupil. Zeiss could of course call it whatever they want - including Biogon - but it could not be a true Bigon design or it would cause these issues, as the existig Biogon's do (including the ZM's). Heck, some of the ZM Biogons even cause issues on the Leica digitals (21/4.5 for instance).
In the fullness of time, of course having these lens options would be great. It just hurts now while the mount is still starving for more native glass.
Sounds like a reasonable start to me, just as with the Touit line they don't seem to aim at the weak spots of Sony's lineup but they start a system of lenses which will work well on it's own.
As No.3 I would like to see a compacts and great 4/21
35 & 50, two of my favorite focal lengths. I dislike my 35/2.8 FE so I'm looking forward to a nicer 35. Sadly no 21 yet, but I'm sure they'll also announce something wide.

The distance that the rear element goes beyond the mount isn't necessarily the issue. It's the location of the exit pupil, and the Biogon designs have pretty short sensor to exit pupil distances.
I'd expect the Loxia lenses to be more modern telecentric designs with the exit pupil nearer to the front of the lens, like we've been seeing with most good mirrorless designs of the last few years. Biogons, and maybe even Planars, have kind of run their coarse. It seems that these "reverse" Sonnar designs, with a few elements in front and bunch of elements in the rear, are the future for mirrorless.
Aww... ...shucks...
My two LEAST favorite focal lengths. Quite a disappointment - more waiting.
I am sure this will please some (for good reasons) but I think we can all agree that what Sony does not even offer is a great wide angle prime lens. This is the void to fill.
Anything at 28 - or wider - would have hit the spot for me.
A 25/2, a 24/2 would be perfect. I would be ok with f2.8.
OR a very small and capable 28/2.8 and a stellar 21/2.8.
The 18/4 from the ZM line transgendered into FE mount too, while they are at it.
With my usual "luck" I am sure the next one will be a 85mm.
Let Biogons be bygones and design new formulas; today's higher resolution, shorter flange sensor cameras have proven the need for new optical designs..

Said another way the biogons don't have an exit pupil that is far enough away from the sensor, or so it is thought. Could they make one with an exit pupil further away? I don't know, but that might be hard.
It will be interesting to see the whole line up. I did expect a 35 and 50. I was hoping the 50 would be a f/1.4 sonnar, but I expected a 35 f/2. I am not really interested in either of these lenses. I want a 35 f/1.4 and I doubt very much the 50 would draw me away from my Rokkor 58 f/1.2. I might be interested in the 50 if it is either a macro or close to APO quality, but I doubt either will be the case. Maybe the macro. These two are that exciting, IMO, but whatever the next announced lenses are they are bound to be more exciting. I expect these are leaked just because they aren't exciting and they will gradually leak more to try to let the excitement build.
