Yeah it is indeed true there are 3 thread size. This might help people finding their hood.

Btw mine is 55mm thread, do you guys think this will fit nicely and does its purpose? Many thanks!

It should fit and given the larger 62mm opening, I'm guessing it would not cause vignetting issues (though you would certainly want to test that). Two possible reasons not to go with a vented hood: 1) if you leave it on and plan to use a 62mm lens cap, you will still have those vented openings which will allow dust, etc. to enter. 2) if you plan on using 62mm filters on the front, light coming through the vents and hitting the rear of the filters will cause reflection issues.

My Zuiko 28/3.5 is markedly soft wide open, but improves rapidly, reaching 'dang sharp' by 4.5. 50/1.8 is fair-good wide open and great by 2.4.

nFD 20/2.8 is a little floofy at 2.8, steadily improving to a broad peak by 5.6. Never quite 'killer' but certainly good enough for most.
28/2.8 is a nice piece. Cheap as dirt too...
I have several 50mm 1.4 and 1.8 lenses; all are very crisp. As you'd expect, the 1.4 is slightly soft at full aperture.
100/2.8 is very nice at all apertures.
A possible sleeper is the nFD 200/4. Light, cheap, and quite good.
200/2.8 is fair wide, very good beyond 4.0. IMO, not entirely worth the premium price unless you _need_ the extra speed.

I let the OM 28/2.5 go as it wasn't as sharp as modern glass. It also lacked contrast and colours weren't great.

I picked up an MD 45/2 and the colours are fantastic. Haven't tested the ultimate sharpness though. It's still not going to be as sharp as modern lenses.

I've now also got the MD Rokkor 50/1.7 and I'm tempted by the Pen-F 38mm
