Looks great just as is! BAM!!! Maybe a hint of "Anti Clarity" on the ridge line as suggested.

It's a great shot and a great composition! The brighter blue-purple areas in the top 1/3 and the blue-gray wash/trail [?] in the bottom third harmonize with--and lead the eye back to--the lightning. Cover them up and it's still a great image, but no longer such an effective composition.
