I was out this past weekend with three other photographers on a trip to Roan Mountain State Park. It's Rhodie season...these are probably 4 of my favorites from the trip. Thanks for looking, any comments or crits are more than welcome and appreciated.
#1: Rhodies at Sunset on Jane Bald
#2: Sunset on Jane Bald
#3: Ferns in the light fog on Roan High Knob
#4: Windswept trees and fog on the hills at Roan High Knob
Cool work here, I do like #1 the best, and the rest in the order they are posted. But in #1 and 2 both, I don't really like the heavy vignetting in the sky in them. I do wish the sky was more evenly lit.
Yeah love the first one. Nice comp and color with the rock and flowers leading to the colorful sunset. If i may suggest a 4X5 cropping off the top blues for a different look. Sweet images.

Thanks for taking the time Jim. I appreciate the feedback.
The vignette is remnant from using a graduated neutral density filter...I know that look isn't for everyone...I like it, since it exaggerates the natural graduations in the sky.

thanks for the feedback and the idea...I had not thought about cropping off the sky...might have to look at it...

Travis, nice set and I like the first one best. I have hiked there in the summer but have not caught the Rhodies yet.
Don
