I'm SO excited to be done with client sessions (I still have 2 left on the calendar but other than that, I am officially finished!) and able to shoot exactly what I want, when I want. I did a creative shoot with the lovely miss Mia the other day up in the forest and wanted to share.
Excellent images, as always Lisa. As a hobbyist, I am in awe of all the amazing photographs posted by you and others on this forum. I am learning and I have a question if you don't mind. With the sun in the back, lighting up the hair so well, how do you still light the face so nicely? Do you use reflectors or something? I would imagine if I shot 2,3 and 4 I would have trouble getting the face to come out bright and nice.
Hi Sanjay - when I am back lighting like this, I try to make sure there is a lot of open area behind me so adequate light is getting on the face. I also filter the back light through something (trees, bushes, tall grass, etc) to avoid a blown background. I will also bring it up a bit in post. I very rarely use a reflector - in fact, it's been so long since I used one I honestly cannot remember the last time.

Good for you Lisa...will be interesting to see which direction you go in.
I am in the same place you are....stopped the paid work rat race a couple years ago....all fun now.
Great separation in these and love the colors....she is kinda cute, you knew that.
