Have not posted in a while and thought I would share some captures from my son's senior prom. Pretty standard posing as we were rushed for time and wanted to get pictures of the group as well. Couldn't as for a better bunch of kids for our son to have as friends and we had all of them over for breakfast after the dance. Great way for him to bring his senior year to a close.
I also like your comments about the kids, as the photos give impression of good kids.
Also liked your comment about hosting them for breakfast after the prom. That seems to me to be a very good and safer thing for teens to do than many do after a prom.
These are well done. It's often hard to get prom groups to focus on the task at hand when kids get together. You've placed them carefully, and each of the kids in the group shots looks good. Now, the only thing you need to do is a bit of ground cleanup. Look at the walkway in #2. And that stick that pokes up in the group shots is a distraction that is easily cloned out. Nice work, though.
Very nice! I like the fact none of the guys are in the "soccer penalty kick" pose. Those are nice looking ladies and gentlemen. I hope they had a great time.
Used the EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II on all of these. On the group shots the rocks are a part of a wall lining the side of a pond on the golf course. I was on the other side of the pond. It is a nice location as there is good solid shade but they are looking through an opening and towards the sun. All the editing was done in Lightroom on these.
Thanks for the positive comments, they are a great bunch of kids, we count our blessings every day that he has friends like these.
Nicely done across the board. Getting a group of any size to pose in any coordinated way is tough, but you did quite well with these. Colors are outstanding.
I was surprised to see the boys in suits as opposed to tuxedos. Here in Lancaster, PA, tuxes are still the norm. We may be well behind the times. javascript:void(0);
as a father of three little girls i would be very proud if they end up in groups of pictures like these on prom night
there faces are "glowing" you captured this along with the young ladies dresses that are all very colourful and vibrant Very nice to look at, Great set
Thanks everyone for the comments! It was a fun evening for all and I am pleased with the results.
And Lisa, little Gwen is growing fast, she was the hit of the evening. Her mom was holding her behind me and she was waving and blowing kisses to the kids. I think it helped keeping them all looking at the camera.
