I've been to JTNP so many times before but each time I'm visiting the park it just never disappoints...
I went there yesterday because according to google weather the place suppose to have some clouds and winds. There wasn't much of a wind there but the crisp air and some clouds at the sunset time made it look amazing. I've never seen one this intense in JT park before. There was a lot of "pro" photographers there for some reasons also. Did they know that such an intense sunset is coming? What's going on?
Anyway, I decided to put my 70-200mm f/4.0 lens on and zoom in on some Joshua trees agains the sunset illuminated mountains, and clouds in the distance. I think these first tree shot came out not too shabby.
The last one was just me chasing the sun light ;-)
Oh, cacti flowers, as you can see, are now blooming there big time. So if you like macro photography this would be the time to go there....

Well sorry that you feel that way Gregg but I don't see them the way you do.
But firstly I didn't mean to cause you this much heartache and I'm sorry if you feel that my comments offend.
I just don't see them the same way as you do so there shouldn't be any offense on your part as this is a forum open for discussion.
All I actually asked was a simple question, so why did you get so upbeat about it?
I get that you don't see them the way I do, I can see that. And you don't have to tell me how I should react to your posts.
I'm not asking you to like my shots at all either. Just read your original post/question again. It's arrogant, dumb, and very offensive. WTF!

I'd chill out if I were you as you are seeing something that only you see. I only asked a simple question and you have decided to take it to a whole new level.

Nigel, may know something about light that we don't. Perhaps it shines in dark places where it ain't supposed to??
Gregg,
You got some very interesting Joshua silhouettes and an unusual composition on your last, which I really like. My only suggestion would be considering removing the small rock at the very bottom. To me it competes with the very interesting flowers you captured on the foreground.

Fred, thank you. Great idea, and I'm like beating my self up now because I should have seen this. I really wanted to make sure people will see cacti and what do they see? A rock!
I'll remove it, thanks. And this is what I call a constructive criticisms.
(that's just what I had been hoping to try somehow to get last time I was there, but then traffic and arrival after sunset, not saying I would've managed even had I gotten there on time though, these three are awesome)
These are really great. Love the color and silhouette.
Honestly i thought nigel was having a fun little troll with you (as if you and him were buddies) but i dont know what happened. Just ignore him and keep doing what you are doing. Its pretty great
