Great picture. I forget who, but someone was talking about it being the perfect travel camera and to just leave behind all the big gear and enjoy the trip. Quality is difinately there.
Nice shot. I like the processing too. I looked through your flickr gallery, nice stuff there, I see some similar processing from some older D700 pics with the cat, any tips on your processing style?
I agree with you about the X100S. I recently took mine to Spain, along with my 5D Mark III. So I have side by side images using both. I wouldn't hesitate to use it in any situation where the fixed focal length of the lens isn't a limiting factor. Image quality certainly isn't.
I been thinking about getting this or the sony rx1r and still conflicted the x100s is at least $1000 cheaper so I was interested in maybe going that route. Glad to hear people are having a great experience with this camera.
Jacket pocket, yes. Shirt pocket, no. One important thing: the supplied lens cap is very loose and can fall off. I took a tip from David Hobby and put a good quality UV filter over the lens, plus a third-party lens shade, and ditched the cap. That makes it a bit less pocketable, but it did fit in my jacket pocket on my trip.
The photo was shot in raw with not too much editing. I'll have to go back and see exactly what I did. I to put on a silver B+W filter but with the adapter, filter and cap it was just too bulky for a jacket pocket.
