Thanks. Like Imagemaster said, it might not have been death by choking. He may have just succumb to the elements and then the fish that he had in his belly was partially regurgitated. Either way, something you don't see every day.
That's the thing I never liked about eagles, they like to mainly eat dead things. Not really the glorious hunters portrayed. Basically a prettier vulture.
Not to hijack your thread, but here is an example of what Bald Eagles of different ages look like. The one in the centre is the youngest. It takes five years before they attain a completely white (balde) head.
Another easy way to tell Golden Eagles from juvenile Bald Eagles is by association. You generally will not see Golden Eagles alongside Bald Eagles. Golden Eagles are more powerful and would drive Bald Eagles away. And it is very doubtful you would see a Bald Eagle chasing a Golden Eagle. More likely the reverse.
