Andrenth, I've read alot about the Kalpanika/x3f progression over the last year or so via the Sigma forum on the DPR website . Roland Karlsson seems to be involved among others. I am on windows platform and have not personally tried either that or Irident as SPP works very well on my pc, although I will say I did build it myself with the emphasis on video and image manipulation so no issues as I know many do . May well be worth a read over there although the discussions are very much about software engineering rather than photography.
