A couple of quick sunset shots from this evening, just different orientations, the sunset was especially vibrant this evening. Even the contrails from the planes going and coming from LAX are lit up nicely. This is looking roughly north. Taken with a DP2 Quattro, with no processing other than resizing from tif to jpg.

Anyone have experience and recommendation for a Teleconverter.
Maybe in the 1.5 to 2x range.
I just got the Sigma FT-1201 which is a 1.2x teleconverter, and I have tried it on my DP2Q and DP3M and it works very nicely, looks pretty good, have not really run it through a lot of frames, and it is not a huge increase but it is nice. For the DP2Q it just screws on to the lens, for the DP3M I use a 52 to 58mm step up ring. I bought it directly from Sigma, they just got them in stock here in the states. $173. The outside filter ring on the end is 67mm. It is not lightweight and comes with a nice padded case. I plan to run it through its paces this week.
From what I have seen just fooling around in the yard, is that there is no vignetting with any of the cameras I have from f2.8 to f16, so that is nice. It balances well on the Quattro and also on the Merrill.
Would you post the settings used, shutter and iso etc.. on that skateboarder shot.
I have had a heck of a time with moving subjects mostly my kids running around.
Anyway I am just curious as to any tips and techniques you used.
Skateboarder at f6.3 1/800 iso200. For any kind of action with the Merrill I zone focus. I use the AEL button to lock focus on something at the desired distance and only shoot when the subject is in the vicinity. For kids running around I would use a DSLR or a Nikon 1 camera which can autofocus much faster and more reliably than a Merrill. Good luck.
