Julian you really should work for Sigma. Great photos in every aspect and I just wonder about your post-processing. I dont think I saw anything similar to this..
By the way, what do you think about new sensor in Quattro?

I would not turn down a good salaried position .
Post processing I attempt I keep quite simple I believe , export from SPP as Tiff and into Cs6 mostly. Never processed a jpeg in all the years I've had a digital camera. My background is fine art and painting, which I was not great at but use similar idea's as a painter uses light. That is not to make a photograph look like a painting , but more use the raw file as you'd attempt in a painting to create light , if that makes sense. In many ways it is so much easier with photography as you have the representation of the light as a starting point, it basically needs to be accentuated, where as with paints light is produce from juxtapositions of colours on forms, usually from an off white blank canvas. Hope that makes sense. The light and form is actually what I like about photography far more than over the subject matter, unless it is social documentary of course.
I have only played with the Quattro raw files and that was a while ago. I'd reserve any thoughts on the new sensor until I shoot with it myself for a period of time, it is the only way really to make a good true judgement. I reckon it takes awhile to get used to any new sensor. When I go back and use the 5D I find the files very different and odd to work on, as I did the Merrill's first off and now I still have a lot to learn. I have the three Merrill's which are hardly a year old as yet so must not be tempted to purchase a Quattro, having a daughter at university to help fund is a far higher priority .
Thank you for the positive comments which are much appreciated.

She is quite old for a chicken, we got her some years ago from an organic egg farm
and she was a few years old then.
No eggs from this one any more just letting her live out her remaining days roaming free in the yard.
Your leaves are quite good are you using the close up lens?
Good to hear you retire hens rather than what is often the usual practise.
No I did not use the close up lens on the fig leaves it is though a square crop, which brought everything in to appear tighter . I have a close up lens which fits on the DP3, but only tried it once, without doing a proper analysis. I aught to try again at some point, but the ability to crop with these cameras is a great advantage.
Thanks Juju - Both that image of the cows in the field and this one feature very tight cropping. Still an amazing level of detail. I wish I had uploaded a larger version of the cows. I might try later if I have the time.
^^^ even better. I enjoy seeing images on the larger side. Although your posting of this original only looked small after I posted the 1600 pixel long side image. Enjoying the one above as well, superb toning , forms and composition.
