Wow, Conrad, that's a pretty incredible turn of events...simultaneously sad (that you lost interest), tragic (that you lost images), redeeming (that you regained interest), and amazing (that you put together this stellar collection of images in such a short time)!
I just took a quick look at your fb page...I think the secret to your success (with autos, photos, work, and life) is that you probably never sleep!
So glad to see you here and posting exquisite photos as always
I love seeing your photos to learn and get ideas from your work so I can be a better photographer!
That is quite the story Conrad, and quite the commitment to "recover" your lost files. I wish you well in fulfilling your plans. This set is stellar, with too many good shots to start picking favorites. Good looking mobile blind too!
Conrad great to see you back on FM and you're off to a great start.
I was saddened when I found out about the theft, I could only imagine
how I would have felt. Great reason/excuse for a world wide photo tour
The Acorn and Magpie are my picks
Welcome back CT What a marvelous set my friend. Don't be in too much of a rush building back the portfolio, take time to enjoy it or you'll be right back in burnout land Too much to comment on, I do have a job I have to get to Come back more often with smaller doses
I was saddened to read your story. What a crushing development! As someone else mentioned, CrashPlan is an excellent online backup option. I vetted several before landing on this one. I keep several TBs of work and fledgling photographic efforts backed up automatically -- and it's quick after you initially seed your data. The big thing is you have piece of mind that one of your backups is somewhere different than your originals.
The silver lining is that you have your gear, and obviously still capable of producing some of the best work seen at FM!
Having read it before doesn't make it hurt less...and I wasn't even there. I can see why you wanted to take a break, and why that would make it even harder to get back to it. All of us are glad you did. What you really need now is to add a kayak rack to the roof of that beast, give you a chance to reach new locations, and a way to relax if by some strange occurrence your not shooting. As usual...all great looking images, more importantly...glad you've had a refresh.
