A surprise whirlwind trip around New Zealand's top landscape locations ended with a gloriously calm morning at Lake Wanaka.

We'd travelled 1500kms in 5 days and slept barely 18 hours , finding our peace on the shore if only for an hour before the drive back to Christchurch.

This is an outstanding image, nice color and really great composition. Did you take any other shot in this location with not so long exposure? I would love to see the cloud texture in the sky!

Beautiful shot. Did you merge two exposures - one for the sky and one for the rest. Or is it the bigstopper that has smoothed the water without any of that milkiness we commonly see with long exposures on the water?

One frame only, the water was very calm.

I have other shorter exposure frames will probably stitch up a pano when I get a chance

Beautiful shot. I like the long exposure--for me it heightens the attention on the form of the tree. Very nice.

Wow is right. This is one outstanding image. I love the motion in the sky and the relative calm on the water (including the tree). This is just great!
