Georgia experienced some very nice weather this weekend and like many we took advantage of it. it was tad overcast Saturday which i didn't mind at all (though I really wanted some sunsetting back light )
Our son is 3.5 months old now and hes getting big way too fast. Little guy was trying to eat grass lol.

Gorgeous wife and a beautiful baby that loves the camera -- or maybe just loves keeping an eye on his dad?
Nice shots, Shawn! I really love No. 1 and the last one, No. 6. Great job!
Thanks Ron! hopefully he loves keeping his eye on me lol. I could have just got really lucky.
#1 and 6 are my favorites as well. # 1 is my absolute favorite. that expression on his face just makes me so proud.

wonderful shots as always. For a 3.5 month old your son has a ton of wonderful personality already showing through.
what produced the catchlights? was it just the clouds in the horizon?
It was overcast and that open soft sky just gave a nigh highlight in the eye. I am trying to follow Lisa Holloways Mantra, look for "pockets of light" so now when I shoot if i dont see a catch light then i move on. i'm waiting for a sunny day to test going into a nice pocket of shade and to see how to get nice catch lights in shady areas with "pockets of light"
Thank you everyone! i love these pictures so very much. Im pretty excited for his 6 month and 1 year photos.
Im curious, I am torn between 2 different editing styles. I originally edited the set with a slight film/vintage feel because of his outfit and the overcast feel but last night i decided to try a little nice crisp and bright edit with more neutral skin tones.

I love both but was looking for some feedback.
left or right side?
my first instinct was to say that i liked the right side better, but I found my eyes fixating on your wife's jacket in the right picture because of the color pop. For that reason, I think i like the left side better. The colors are more muted, except for your son's hat and his eyes really pop and attract my eyes, and he obviously should be the main attraction in the photo. just my $0.02

I prefer the right side but I do like the left version as well.
Yea i'm torn between the two. I will leave it alone for now since thats how I originally envisioned it and processed it.

I can definitely see your points which are valid. Thanks for taking the time to give feedback.

Its a tough choice for sure.

Skin tones are much better in the left.
B
really? I felt like the skin tones in the image on the right were more neutral and fleshy with correct white balance compared to the left which has a more vintage yellowish tint to it.
I am not on a calibrated monitor however every image I send off millers printing lab always comes back looking exactly as it does on my monitor or pretty darn close.
