Really nice, Ian! I looked at the catchlights after reading Mark's comments, and was thinking that it looks like it's coming from a 24x30 or 30x40 softbox set horizontally, looked normal to me. Softbox in front of subject and just slightly above nose level. Then I looked at the shadow on her nose and thought... does that match? The shadows look like the light is coming from a window more to the side than what the catchlights would indicate. Also, with the light almost straight on, the hair just to the left of her face (our right) would be more lit, I would think. So I'm thinking you dropped in the catchlights during post. Having said all that, I think it works really nicely in this shot and I never would have even thought about it if not for Mark's comment. Great job!
Love this shot. Superb portrait. Lighting is perfect. The piano definitely completes the picture -- it makes the image into a story rather than a picture of a pretty lady.
