I posted a similar shot from here a few months back when I was still on the road. I'm finally getting around to reprocessing everything since I only had an 11" macbook to work on. My wife and I only stayed at Monument Valley for one night but we had some great light. I can still feel the nice warm desert air on my skin. Much nicer than the single digit temps we're having right now ; )
You worked that rock into the foreground nicely. While I do like the composition, I will say the whole shot looks too red too me. At least with the rocks, I would pull back on the red channel.

What a strong foreground! It's a compelling image, Jord. Might be interesting to see the same idea with the camera a bit higher to tame that rock and balance the FG and mittens.
I like this a lot, I might lose the bottom frame of your stitch as others have mentioned. Nice job of selecting that rock and if I have the placing right, it blocks the road which is a bonus.
I think that perhaps the camera should have been raised just a bit to make the entire middle butte visible (the bottom and a bit of sand seems cut off to me). Still, very nice
Thanks Ben and Justin ; ) Craig, if I remember right I know it took me quite some time lining this up to hide the road. I think to make the entire middle butte visible would have ended up showing the road crossing behind the foreground sandstone. I think I could have moved left or right to remedy that but then I would have lost the nice lead in of the rock. I really didn't pay too much mind to the cut off butte until you mentioned it. I'm sure it will bug me know
^ Thanks guys. I know the huge rock isn't for everyone but I like it. I almost just shot this from the viewpoint like everyone else but when the masses showed up I said why am I even here if I get the same thing as everyone else. Much more peaceful away from the crowds
