Worst server. Ever. Spends way more time down for maintenance than any forum I've ever visited. Glad FM is always up and running. Thanks, Fred, we love you.

Hey TM, I know things are in flux over there now, but their downtime has been significantly above the norm ever since I've been frequenting the place. Lame? Sorry, but I can't really bitch about it at NC at the moment can I?
They also require a minimum number of posts before you can view their marketplace. I thought it worth the trouble when I was actively building a kit but once I saw what was on offer for sale I was underwhelmed. Nice folks, fine photographers but simply not enough there to hold my interest. I wish them well but FM is my home away from home…
I am "Mr. Neal" and I would like to clarify things if I can. For 8 years I was a member on the Cafe and I loved it, made some very good friends there. from the day I joined they always had a policy where I could edit my posts and remove images I had posted. There was no time limit, it was forever. As such I posted lots of images there, my grandchildren my family and many other things I would never have posted on a forum where I was not allowed to change my mind and bring a picture back down.
the new owner changed this, and that is his right, but he never offered me the option to take down images before he changed it, and when I asked him to let me take down images he said no. I then asked him to take them down and he ignored me.
I am very sorry that this thing I tried to keep between him and me turned into what it did, all I wanted was control of my images and I wish nothing but the best for Mike and the Cafe
Anyway I hope that no one here will hold this against me -

I thought they had banned me- I get absolutely nothing from IE11 or Chrome trying to get there.
My only experience with their Mods- I had suggested that the "Lens Lust" forum have a couple of subforums. One of the Mods replied that they didn't see the purpose of having subforums in it; I replied back that it would probably serve the same purpose that subforums have in the Camera forum. They deleted my reply. Some things are just not open for discussion. Their lens forum is a mess, I don't bother with it.
Odd- if cookies and such were a problem, I would have expected that installing a new browser would remedy the problem. Clearing cookies did no good. If updating addresses were the issue, the update should have propagated by now. I can log in from work, but not from verizon.net. I suspect they are blocking groups of IP addresses. After the incidents of the last few weeks- maybe it is all for the best.
