took the title of this thread from a popular t-shirt sold in NZ. here are some images from my favorite place in the world during my 4th visit this 2013, been going back just to get bucket list images from my favorite spots, will be back next autumn for a 5th (in 3 years) just to close the books on my photographic journey in South Island, NZ.

here are some more images hope you like em'!

The Hooker Dreamscape

I have hiked to this area 4x, going on my 5th this 2014, and this is the only time I chanced some good light at this spot, most of the time we ended up hunting @ the glacier lake. Lucky for us they moved the track, as it was quite a challenge to get some adrenaline pumping as it was winter with frozen puddles of water all around to walk on. To catch golden hour at the lake you can only afford to take 2-3 shots here and run like crazy as you are only half of the way to complete the hike. Good Morning Cardio!

Church on Fire

this was a surreal scene, the morning after a huge fog back laid to rest on the entire tekapo area giving almost zero visibility. twilight was just about to explode, so after taking this image as I just got out of the car I had to run like a crazy person to the lake to catch the light coming up from the mountain ranges.

The Set-Up

a hike to the river mouth of the tasman lake, though not many people find the way to this spot as it is not a suggested hiking track. here I thought of adding some depth to the ice fragments by putting another one on the further rock. It was an overcast day and it suddenly cleared up I would have wished some more cloud stayed on, was very happy though with the reflections and the conditions this day.

Hey Christian, great shots! I'll be a Lake Tekapo in a few days and hope to get some good light and catch the lupins as well. New Zealand is such a great place for photography - especially the South Island. I can understand why you keep coming back - this is my fourth trip in five years...

nice there are already some lupins the left and right side of tekapo. some of my friends are there now. though in most areas, the lupins have already been eradicated. most specially those near the farmlands.

if I may say so, the hardest 100m walk of my wife. the hay and mud combination with ice sheets of freezing water in between, not that cold though it was -2 degs this morning.... each step your foot goes down into 1 foot of mud, step on the hay and it gets worse. you slip into the water. i was so dirty after this shot..... i quickly made my way back first, went up a hill on the other side to take a selfie and a smoke.... with my tauranga coffee... and I was looking down on my 4 friends negotiate the walk back, I was laughing so hard inside.

All are simply wonderful in their own unique ways. Great exposures, excellent compositions and all have that visual impact.

These all inspire me for my first NZ trip this coming April. I especially like #1. Maybe we will have time for Hooker.

A really exquisite set.
I've only been to New Zealand once- but spent a full month on each of the two major islands.
I share your intrigue with the place.
And the locals are as friendly as any in the world.

These are wonderful.

As for the title, it is correct. I have lived in old Zealand (=Zeeland in the Netherlands) and it is not that interesting.)
