Back in November 2001, when the 1D was released, its suggested retail price was $6,499.
See below: The Canon EOS-1D digital SLR camera will be available at authorized Canon dealers in December and have a suggested retail price of $6,499.
Then in December we learned that this body would have a street price of $5.5K.
I expect the same to happen with the new 1Ds. It should be selling for $7.5-8K or less. I'm hoping for $6.5-7K

Nope! Sorry, but these forums are here for discussion. If we just sit here and not talk about it, why be here at all? If the guy is not happy and wants to take the trouble to write and let Canon know how he feels, good luck to him! Whether you agree with him or not, does not make an iota of a difference...
As I said before, the only way to influence Canon is to vote with your wallet... BUT (!) there is nothing wrong with letting them know how you feel about anything that they do. They have PR departments to handle the feedback. Again: If you don't tell them how you feel, how will they know
Personally, this is what I tell my customers: "If you are happy with my work, tell all your friends, if not, TELL ME!"
