I started enjoying my new Sony A7 II over the past two weeks around my woodlands, with much joy. The two photos were taken with the FD 50mm f1.2 L, wide open. I used the "custom" mode to assign the C1 button (near shutter release) to the magnify function, which really works for me.
Something a little different with a Canon fd lens....easily adapted to an astronomy CCD camera...optics on par with many more expensive telescopes, and imaging at f/2.8 is great! As a bonus, the filter drawer holds standard 2" astronomy filters like the Hydrogen one used in this image:

Great setup. Looks like it became an active tool for real scientific work.

Canon FD 400mm f/2.8 L on Sony Alpha 7II (Image crosspost from "Your favorite lens rendering...? ").
I love this lens, even knowing how much better corrected the FD 300mm f/2.8 L is. I use this lens for a lot of my experiments, like with special additional optics as ~170mm f/1.2 with very special bokeh and low sharpness or 300mm/2.1 with ~normal bokeh and sharpness.

Thank you! The leaf was hanging by a single thread of a spiderweb that had broken away when (possibly) the leaf fell into it. Just a pure lucky find...
Fun thread, didn't realize it was here! I've tried several legacy brands and Canon FD has to be one of my favorites by far. Great color and contrast, good handling. Most of mine are old BL SSC lenses, but the 80-200L has earned a permanent spot. Here's a couple from that lens. I'll have to pull up some 35mm f/2 SSC and 135mm f/2.5 SC shots, those are two more that are keepers for me.
