Very Amateur question --- in the photos with two birds -- how did you get both of them, as well as the branch, fish, etc. --- in such sharp focus? I see you used f/8, but what focus point/area did you use? Spot, or centered, or what?

Thanks!
Hi Happygirl
Im sorry about the slow response
More than likely I focused on the branch because when shooting a 600mm with a 2x extender you will
only have the center focus point available, also you will be forced to be at f8 as your widest aperture .
another item would be that I am perpendicular to the subjects
I hope I helped
Chris, after following your posts I'd guess every single one of those 151+K pics are well done. If you have 1that tops #1 here blow it up big and hang it over your mantel. Otherwise, hang this #1.
Hi Chris,
I hope my cheeky comment has not offended you as I call those shots.... Absolutely beautiful and as others have already said, they are amazing shots.
We are fortunate to have some excellent TV documentaries that have done features on these timid birds but those shots are taken by experts using the very latest TV equipment. Your images izz taken by you and boy am I envious
Magnificent set of some of my favourite birds too (kingfishers in general - wherever I go the local KFs are always one of my top targets). Every one of these is mightily impressive and it's impossible to pick a single 'winner'.
