p.2 #1 · Portraits - B&W film w/ Rolleiflex

Oh man this is a masterpiece! Such mystery from the unseen or blurred part of the alley. And the beauty and smile of your model. This picture glows, i just love it.

It for some reason makes me think of Diagon alley in Harry Potter.

I know the dust and lint on the negative is probably intentional to enhance even more the feeling of old B&W film n paper, but man i have to fight the urge to save it on my computer and clean it in CS6. :-)

Don't worry i wont touch it, it's perfect as it is.

Big Bravo to you r_o_b_s_o_n, count me in as a fan :-()

WOW!!!

SargentRay & airfrogusmc,

as I mentioned, I was pretty happy with the image, but your reception of it is very much a surprise to me! Thank you both so kindly for your extremely generous feedback and comments. I am very grateful. The dust was not intentional! I tried to ensure that the negs were dust free when I scanned them, but I honestly didn't even pay much attention to it... Anyway, again... I can't believe how well you received this shot! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I'M telling you sir this shot is magical, just want to find an old Mamiya C220 now like i had when i was a young man studying photography and set up a darkroom again. It only makes me realize we did indeed loose something by going digital.

About the dust & lint i was under the impression you left them there to enhance the feeling of vintage B&W, but if it wasn't so leave them anyways i say it only adds to the whole experience.

The compliments are really heart felt and well deserved my new found friend. Keep it up i for one will be watching :-)

I'm a fan. Seeing these makes me wish I'd bought an old Rolleiflex before the prices went through the roof...

btw. this shot also exhibited the same unbalanced light as the shot(s) above, but I did take the time to correct it in lightroom this time.

I'd crop the bright elements on the right so the model appears to be leading on the frame border. Squesr is fine but those bright objects on the right edge don't add much to the image.

Buy a Pentax 6x7, Mamiya or whatever. It's not the camera that matters so much. You can get a good setup for mid to low three digit price. I would never pay the premium for a collectable camera.
