I really smile when I see shots like these....I shake my head and wonder if I had the opportunity to photograph these scenes, would they come out anywhere as good as these...sadly for me, the answer is a resounding no....wonderful series of photos Socrate.
Eric
Thanks, Eric. I know that if you had the opportunity you would wonderfully capture any beautiful scene

Quite a lovely series Socrate, I'll go with #4 as my favorite. I think you did well with having sunshine and all. On #5 I think I might go through the effort of cloning those humans out at the top of the falls.
Mike
Thank you, Mike. Appreciate your comments and suggestions. That was my second visit in a week in #5. The first time I was there on Saturday and it was packed with people. I didn't even bother to get some shot and joined the crowd

Great collection of images, especially that first one, second one I might've cropped just a bit off the bottom, and love the third as well. Must've been a great time to be there.
Thanks for the comments and suggestions, Scott. Nice call on the second shot

very pretty socrate. you guys are probably a a bit behind us here in boston, we are just past peaked a few days ago. i might lean towards #1, i wonder to what that path leads.....
dorian
Thank you Dorian. That path was leading to one of the most beautiful waterfalls of NC, IMO. Unfortunately the foggy day doesn't allow to show all its beauty, but at least It adds some mood.
Here are a couple of shots.

bummer on the fog
we were there yesterday and the colors were peak
it is btw the longest waterfall east of the rockies at 400+ feet, longer than even niagra

Hi Randy! I was there with some friends, dogs, cats etc otherwise I would have called you. May be next year, or even earlier. My wife wants to go back this spring.
We were there before the peak and fog was not the only bummer. The main entrance to Linville Falls was closed due to the budget constriction, but you could get to them from a different trail head. Good thing the Blue Ridge Parkway was open.
I did go back to the Whitewater Falls in a better day and decided to take the trail all the way down to the small bridge. That was a bit hard on my legs
The Falls are definitely a great and beautiful site. No surprise Kevin Adams choose these Falls for the cover of his book. The noise from the falling water was so loud my dog was scared all the time we were there.
Good to hear from you.
Take care buddy
