it's an awesome lens! though it's rendering does not remind me of your shooting style.
That's one of the reasons that I got interested, actually. I know it wouldn't be great for what I usually do, but something tells me I'll start experimenting when I get the a7(r).
Nice images! The rendering reminds me very much of the Summicron-C 40, which I have. I also had the Nokton 35/1.4 for a while, and it never really had that nice look wide open. More LCA and a tad harsher bokeh, I think.
Even if this thread will live on, I decided to buy a CV 35/1.2 again. Didn't like it on APS-C, but I suspect that it could be much nicer on FF. On film it was great once stopped down a bit, but very soft wide open. I think I must have had a "bad" copy, because others seem to get much sharper results.

it is a very similar draw to the 40 cron. i compared the two directly in a number of different situations. the cron has higher contrast and resolution from f/2-f/4 (and maybe smaller apertures as well but not significantly). bokeh at f/2 is noticeably harsher with the cron. the mid-zone dip occurs closer to the center of the frame on the lux and also recovers closer to the center of the frame on the lux. overall i decided i preferred the cron for nearly everything except shooting people at f/2 (well and f/1.4). i did buy a lux focus tab to replace the tab on my 40 cron because the lux's tab is much more functional.
good luck with cv 35/1.2, did you get the second version this time?

Most classic lenses give better bokeh stopped down a tad, so the 'Cron is – as you know – much nicer at f/2.8 than wide open. Personally I like harsh bokeh for closeups and smooth bokeh at a few meters, which is why I love the Zeiss 50/1.4 Planar. Something like that at 35 mm would be perfect.

Yes, even if I don't think they should be any different if you get good copies. There are plenty of A/B comparisons confirming this.
Your pictures provide a superb example of how -- in the hands of a good photographer -- a single lens can yield a wide range of perspectives, compositions, and emotions.
