my conclusions:
1) i have no idea what he was using for a focus point
2) either his m adapter is rather crooked or his m lenses have weird asymmetrical field curvature
3) the cv 12 looks surprisingly decent (for a 12mm lens)
4) the oly 18/3.5 looks like a good performer except in the center

I am amazed by the incompetence over there to produce samples which actually tell me something about a lenses performance.
Sony should loan 2 samples of each camera and available lenses to Alt Gear & Lenses thread along with some pre-paid shipping containers and/or a budget to ship them around to five or ten forum members. We can have a poll or election to name names.
Not only would Fred's site generate enormous page views as the masses come here for info, Sony'd get the word out quickly and accurately. Plus a lucky five or ten would get to play.

(Edit) The 35 Summi f/2 shot looks like it's focused a few feet in front of the bridge. The text says it's focused on the bridge, so I assume that's true for the other shots as well.
The bummer is I'm a little surprised to see color shift on this lens...

Yeah, after buying and selling dozens of lenses for NEX and the M9, I found that there are just too many variables to get consistent results from just about anyone, and everyone has different expectations for "acceptable." We really need to just test on our own.

That place. When I first got my Nex I visited. They wanted nothing to do with nex. They explained why: not our sort of users. Too much traffic on the site. Not nice people. Finally they made a sub forum---when the nex-7 was released!
They must be having kittens now, with all the new traffic
Other end of the spectrum is DP, where sturm and drang rule and nobody adds to threads past a certain point--thus same issues come up over and over. Many there are so pissed that their cameras are no longer top of emount line!

It really should be expected. Just about every lens wider than 50mm shows some kind of color shift on the M9, to varying degrees, without the software correction turned on.

FM forever!
Re: DPR, the endless threads on
"Why are they killing APS-C?"
"Why are they killing NEX?"
"Why are they killing DSLR/DSLT?
Apparently, not everyone uses google or search engines in general.
I avoided DPR for a week after the A7 announcement due to overwhelming possibility that the sky was falling or the world was coming to an end.

The place is priceless, really. Huge membership and utterly devoid of moderation. Of course, there are a handful of great guys trying to keep the boat upright, like Henry, who is a total gem.
Here, moderation is outstanding---by other users who know the power of wit.
I'll take those options over the heavy handed rule of mods who also have very strong opinions, which you can see at lots of places. There's a certain place I go where the letter "L" is banned altogether
I see others have stumbled into Stasiland and the home for mentally deranged space cadets. The wheels have fallen off the clown car over there, the vitriol is something to behold at times.
Steve Huff's using the Voigt 35mm f1.2 in the real world and the results are very convincing. Hard to tell anything about the corners, but the center looks good! And it can be focused accurately under challenging conditions.
We may not be able to use every wide RF lens on these cameras, we may be using SLR lenses or even Sony FE lenses, but the A7R especially seems to bring something genuinely new to the table for those of us who have never owned a D800E.
Yeah, the 35/1.2 shots are awesome, and the color 28/2 shot doesn't have critical color shift, not more than what I would get with the M9 without lens profiles. The A7R looks promising. On the other hand, I found the images from the FE 55/1.8 less interesting rendering wise, even though they are technically faultless. Some would call that a "sterile" or "clinical" rendering, but we need to see more samples to get a clearer idea.

I think they look very much the same in terms of rendering.
I hope we see more samples soon. My comments are only related to Steve Huff photos. Surely not enough to judge a lens. I think the Voigtlander 35/1.2 just looked awesome.
