The FPS and AF are they only thing holding up CANIKON at the moment. Maybe sony felt sorry for them
We will see a bigger model in January with really good AF I'd bet.
Lenses are and will come out of the woodwork.
The shutter noise has also left a few survivors: that is a real shame. Oh well, just have to brace myself for the reaction.

If you want to use native lenses, what does A7 really get you over a Fuji?
It all comes down to viewing/print size. 16mp aps-c to 36mp FF is a noticeable jump in image quality, if you need it, and even 24mp FF should be a worthwhile improvement.

I will probably keep my better 5N AF lenses for a while, and hopefully can use them in crop mode. That will give me all the functionality I currently have with 5N, a much improved user interface (though I will miss the touch screen), AND the possibility to use my adapted lenses in FF mode. For me, it should be a solid win, except for the hit to my pocketbook. I will be waiting with you to see how the native glass works out. That has been the most frustrating aspect of Sony for me personally.
I expect to keep part of my Nikon gear (D7100 & teles) for action shooting. Need to figure out what adapter to use - I want to put my Sig 35 1.4 and Sig 150 OS on the Sony. I used the 35 a small bit on the 5N, and the results were outstanding.

It is interesting that the FM side bar has announced the new innovative Sonys and next to it is a lens Canon can't rid of because of a failed system camera.

As for the Novoflex, I have used their Contax, Nikon and Leica M adapter. Personally, I think the Rayqual (from Cameraquest) or Metabones (too bad they don't have the plain vanilla version) is better in term of construction.
That doesn't say much for Novoflex, if the Metabones is better built - the Metabones adapter I bought for my Fuji is probably the sloppiest-fitting adapter I've ever used.
The idea of being able to use Canon EF lenses on the new Sonys sounds very appealing, but these third-party adapters all seem to leave a lot to be desired.

My Novoflex adapter for Leica R lenses to my Fujifilm and Leica R to M 4/3 are quite tight and extremely well made. I expect the same for my Leica R to NEX adapter that I should have shortly.

Well, Richard already corrected me on the Novoflex Leica R NEX adapter quality. The Contax version, which is what I had, is still not as good as the Rayqual. As for the Metabones, I meant the Canon EF NEX adapter. That is one sturdy adapter with a decent tripod foot. I don't use any other Metabones.

Let me put things in perspective. Here is the MTF of the ZA 135/1.8 (supposed to be the sharpest ZA lens). We all know that Sony MTFs are calculated. So assuming they are both calculated under the same parameter (ignoring diffraction, effect of different wavelengths, etc.), that would still put this 55 as good as the ZA 135. Even the ZA 50/1.4 is not that good. We're seeing Lux 50 ASPH level right here.

My Novoflex Hasselblad-Contax 645 and Hasselblad-Nikon adapters were both perfect, technically and built quality. I have never in my life heard of a sloppy Novoflex product. Is that an ancient product, or perhaps a fake?

The Zeiss 35-70/3.4 can be adapted to Nikon.
I read the instructions on the Leitax site when I switched to Nikon and it's definitely not something I'd try. Esp. not after having issues with the much simpler adaptation to Canon.
I do see that after my mess with it, Leitax is now automatically supplying a new metal ball bearing... I think the reason for that is me.

the 50/1.8 looks wild sharp. But I think maybe my 50 cron can keep up
If those mtfs are to be believed, maybe if you have the 50 Cron AA, but the regular cron can't quite compete, if we're talking resolution and flat field performance. The 55/1.8 looks like it could be a real halo lens for the system.
