'Battery life is weak but it really does not bother me. I carry seven batteries which is maybe 3 to many but there small and light and really does not bother me.'

This might be me just being weird, but how are you guys deleting the files from the sd card? When I delete them through my sd card reader on my pc, when I put the card back into the camera it says file not available when previewing. It shows how many pictures I took before deleting the files though

I delete files by putting the sd card into the camera and formatting in camera. I find this is the best way to avoid a file corruption on the card.

Another question for you guy.
I have a Minolta rokkor 58mm f1.2 lens which has been converted to Sony alpha mount.
Which adapter can I use to use it on my A7r?
I do have a LA-EA4 for my Sony Zeiss lenses and I can certainly use that but it just adds extra weight when I just want to carry the rokkor.

I have a cheap and simple ebay EF-NEX adapter with no electronic communication for my EF- converted Rokkor, there should be something similar available for Sony Alpha mount.

there are a number of cheap and decent a-mount to e-mount adapters without electronics on ebay. i use one for my leica 350/4.8, rokinon 85/1.4, and canon FL 55/1.2 which are all converted to a-mount and it seems to work fine (i think it is the kiwi branded one?) but i haven't tried it on an a7(r) yet.

Here too, on every camera, not just the A7/r. Most days a card format is the only reason I have to dive into the menus, and this is a testament to how customizable the camera is.

Has it been instructed somewhere how to remove magenta tint on short edges of A7r photos?
Asking this since FE55 seems to cause magenta tint on short edges of images, when shoot with large apertures. This is rather weird since A7 didn't suffer from this. Example f/2.2:

I have had acceptable quick-and-dirty results in LR by pulling down the purple saturation in the color adjustments panel. For more difficult situations, like the magenta/cyan bullseye with the 35 FE, I've found this and small WB tweaks (so far, cooler) and maybe a little hue shift on the relevant channels can make a big difference. Obviously the success of these techniques depends on image content. I'll probably try making flat field images when I've had more practice with this gear.

Wideangle rangefinder lenses also show less color shading on the A7, so it's the difference in sensor design.
It seems particularly odd that this issue would show up even with Sony's own 55mm lens though. I have seen examples of similar problems with the FE 35 but until now did not believe the FE 55 was in danger of this issue on the A7r.
the best solutions are to use the LR flat field plug-in or corner fix, both involve converting the image to DNG though.
i was perfectly satisfied making a set of correction shots for each aperture at infinity and at ~3m and choosing which ever was closest for a given shot. for more exacting results you should take a white frame shot right ever each shot that you are going to want to correct in order to use that.

they show up with the rx1 too, so it's not that surprising.

I have not seen it to this degree with my RX1 yet, though we don't get much snow around here. Of course, the RX1 uses a wider angle lens than the 55, as you know, and that's the most surprising part of this to me (given the FE 55 is uniquely designed AND is of a longer focal length where this sort of issue normally would not exist). I don't think this reflects well on Sony's design/ engineering with the A7r (likely all about $$ in the end as I'm sure Sony is fully capable).

Sebboh's right. I also see it with the RX1 sometimes. There's been a lot of talk about it when that camera was just released. However, it's indeed a much wider lens.
