MODE RANT 'ON'
Probably I'm in minority here but, instead of a 24-70/4, I'd preferred a 35-105. For my kind of photos I haven't much use for the focal range below 35mm. and 70mm. is way too short for telephoto.

Just an FYI, the latest pre-release of Photo Ninja has RAW support for the a7/a7r.

Still seeing these kinds of remarks:
'I was rather disappointed with results outside the center area while I remember being satisfied with them on D700 and I started to wonder is it because of A7R or could it be lenses themselves'
...
It can take time to realise the need for high quality lenses and for many it is logical to blame 'the messenger' - the sensor!
That was my remark and no, I didn't blame the sensor, otherwise I wouldn't have asked myself "could it be lenses themselves".

I just got my RSS plate, and unless I have a defective plate, I've lost the ability to tilt the screen down. It's not a huge problem, since it's a position I hardly use, but disappointing nonetheless.

I shot a full day with an A7 at CES, using a Metabones III + Canon 35mm IS. The camera locked up on me about 5-6 times, requiring a battery pull to recover each time. Has this happened to anyone else?

I understand Zoran, it is hard to know what is going on at times.
Yes, that is why I was looking for the reference point on how those lenses .

A note on the flare issue ... The adapter companies have a lot of catch up to do!
I agree. I keep having a feeling that part of softness I am seeing wide open is "haze" due to internal reflections.

I've never had the A7 lockup, but then I've never shot for a full day without a brake. Was this the A7 or A7r?

Has anyone else gotten theirs?
I got mine yesterday, as a very rough guess I can tilt the screen down about 20 degrees. It definitely limits it. But I am taller than my tripod so it doesn't bother me, I usually take the bracket off if I don't have a tripod with me.

Sounds like the smart adapter firmware/camera firmware interaction needs some work, and the issue is likely in Metabones' court as there don't seem to be reports of similar problems coming from owners of the Sony LA-EA4 smart adapter.
I've had zero issues with camera lockups on my A7r but am not using smart adapters of any sort, just native lenses and dumb adapters.

I posted the email address in the hopes that at least other Canadian A7/r owners here will chime in too.
One would have thought with all of the bad weather here I would have time to respond more promptly
It's quite a compliment to receive a letter, as you mentioned, from the president of a large organization such as Sony.
You must have struck a cord for him to do so. As such you are the most likely person to be listened to by him and not just anyone of us contacting him.
That makes you an influential, unpaid, lobbyist for us
Cheers

Hmm, too bad
RRS is usually very good, but my have rushed this one too much.
I've just been informed mine has arrived, been cleared through customs and is ready for delivery.
Hopefully, the issue you mention is the only one, as I can live with that, but for the price paid it does lower RSS' credibility on any future potential acquisitions from them by me.
