Yes. In multishot mode.

Right and assuming multi-shot mode is enabled, do I have to hold the shutter for 7 exposures to be taken or that one press of the shutter is enough to trigger all 7 exposures to be taken?

Yes, this is my experience too. AF reliability is far better than 7D.

To either of the two 70D owners:

I haven't seen any information that would indicate technological improvements to the autofocus system aside from live view. Does this perceived improvement include servo mode, or just locking focus in one shot mode?

Hi Brian,

I've yet to go out to shoot BIF with my 500 and 70D, but I will try soon and report my findings.

brimull - all the reports seem to suggest its contrast AF system a simplified version of the 7d system. Not sure if there were any under the hood improvements though...

Single shot through optical viewfinder. AF consistency is MUCH better than 7D.

Interesting. I keep mine in servo almost always, so it will be of particular interest to me if this improvement carries over into servo autofocus.

When using the iPad or any other iOS device connected to the 70D, can I enable a grid for compositional purposes on the iPad such as the rule of thirds?

Not possible with EOSRemote App.

So when the EOS Remote App is activated, does the live view screen on the 70D stays on or it turns off? If it stays on, I'm assuming the grid can be activated right?

Assuming multi-shot mode is enabled, do I have to hold the shutter for 7 exposures to be taken or that one press of the shutter is enough to trigger all 7 exposures to be taken?
