I am breaking my head over my gx680III here - it refuses to fire.
Before you suggest removing dark slider - it's out.
Actually, stupidly loaded film wouldn't advance to frame 1 with dark slide out - I had to put it in.
Batteries are full, back not showing camera icon...
Sorry I wasn't paying attention, thought you had a digital back.
I've only used a Bronica so I'm not sure what has to be satisfied to allow this camera to fire;
Bad black slide sensor
This uses all leaf shutter lenses right? (ie no shutter in the body?)
Lens not recognized? (reseat it and clean/check contacts)
Lens shutter faulty (do you have a different lens to try?)
Do you have to have the back attached to get the shutter to fire? If so clean and check the contacts and try a different back if you have one.
Hmm, found this... http://www.dannyburk.com/fuji_gx680iii.htm
"Film backs
Among the many nice features of the 680 are its film backs. Besides the multi-format capabilities mentioned above, the backs revolve at the touch of a button…no tipping the camera for verticals. They're also electronic marvels, each with its own LCD screen that displays frame number, format in use, film type, and more. They will indicate (via flashing icon) whether a lens is incorrectly attached, darkslide has not been removed, or other problem"
So unless it's showing some issue it may boil down to the the lens shutter.
For some problems on digital cameras it's worthwhile removing all batteries (the small coin battery if it has one for date/time) and letting it sit for a few minutes then reinserting them. Don't know if this might help. It seems like this camera has at least a small logic chip.
Thank you for the tips guys.
I am a little at loss since back doesn't display any errors at all. Even with back removed the shutter doesn't operate, which is a little weird.
It looks like it is likely to be battery issue, but strangely battery status is full capacity.
Will try to change tonight and see if that sorts the issue.
It was battery!
For some strange reason both back and camera gave "Battery full" status when they actually were low on power.
Replaced them today and camera works properly...
