@Buckeye1 - Thanks - and I actually had a shot where the water was smoother, but in my opinion there was too much detailess white - but I did initially have the same thought as you

Actually, I'm hearing/seeing 8 or 9 Western Maryland Rwy. steam engines pulling/pushing a coal train up the Black Fork grade visible on the right hillside in #1. It's a great rail/trail now but there are rumors of logging in the canyon. Nice work Steve!
Ron
Ahh, the rail must be this line in the ridge I was wondering about:
@Rich - Yup, she sure is a keeper - she helps me out all the time on my trips. She even helps me with wildlife. One time we were shooting a bear in YNP and he was moving along a hill side. She'd get ahead of the crowd and when the bear was in the right spot, I'd just walk over and swap spots with her - I always had a perfect location!

Better than the spouse who carries the tripod for you.
That's it Steve - lots of coal came up this grade from the Elkins area heading for Baltimore and NYC. Trains ran into the diesel era until abandonment in 1984. Google "Western Maryland blackwater canyon" and you'll see a nice set of photos from the area including one of a train with the aforementioned 8-9 steam engines. Kudos on your spectacular shot.

Ron

Great minds think alike...to certain degree 😃
Hey since I am from Ohio, lets go shoot together sometime. I know, I am not as beautiful as your wife 😊
Seriously though, I would love to head out on a trip like this during the Fall; let me know!
Really like the Tremont shot, and have shot that exact spot from up on the road above it in the Fall. Think that's the middle prong of the Little River, but could be wrong on the name. Nice shot there, as well as the first two!
Love them, suddenly took me back to hiking the A.T. It's nice when photos generate an emotional response, as these did immediately. Looking forward to more.
